End Freeway

The End Freeway sign doesn't announce that the journey is over, only that another kind of journey is about to begin. It asks us to slow down, to exchange speed for presence. It is the point where the road stops being about getting somewhere and becomes about being there. Beyond and below it, as the freeway remains elevated for a few more meters, lies San Francisco: slower streets, familiar traffic, and countless memories waiting to unfold.
