Bay (Area) Window

Bay (Area) Window is a small play on words. It refers both to the iconic bow windows that punctuate San Francisco's Victorian homes and to the Bay Area itself. Like the rest of Imperfect Memories, the image isn' a faithful record of a place, but a memory of it, where the architecture softens into emotion.
My first home in San Francisco was on Guerrero Street. Its bow window framed a view of Bernal Hill, a landscape that stayed with me long after I left.
